My site isn't loading. What to check first

Sites hosted with Baumeister run on their owner's computer, so the most common reason one is down is that the computer is off, asleep or offline.

Check, in this order:
1. The computer is on and awake, and Baumeister is running (its icon is by the clock, or in the Mac menu bar).
2. Open the project in Baumeister. It says whether the site is reachable and what to do if not.
3. For an app, make sure it's deployed and running.
4. Look at https://baumeister.host/status for the Baumeister services.

If you want the site up even when the computer sleeps, turn on Safety Net (see the thread in Questions).
